Golisano Autism Center Incorporated

With the vision to transform the delivery of autism services, the Golisano Autism Center in Rochester has been incorporated. The board of directors was established at inaugural board meeting in January. They will have the fiduciary oversight in the development of the Center and its programs and services.

Officers:
Mary Walsh Boatfield – Chair
Thomas O’Connor – Vice Chair
Sarah Milko – Secretary and Treasurer

Board Members:
Jeffrey Baker
Scott Burdett
Thomas Wilmot, Jr.

Additional community board members are expected to be added as the Golisano Autism Center is further developed.

A collaboration of CP Rochester, AutismUp and Al Sigl Community of Agencies, the Golisano Autism Center will be collocating and coordinating resources offered by multiple autism providers, each of which has specialized areas of expertise. This comprehensive, enriched and innovative model emphasizes collaboration amongst complimentary autism-specific
programs in the community.

The new Center will be named for philanthropist and Paychex founder Tom Golisano, who announced last year that he is making a matching challenge grant of $2.5 million to help build the Center. The first major gift toward the anticipated two-year challenge came from the Golisano Foundation in the amount of $500,000.

The Golisano Autism Center will be located on the Al Sigl Schwartz Family Campus on South Avenue near Science Parkway and will include shared program spaces, a sensory gym, classrooms, therapy rooms and more. Groundbreaking for the Center is expected this Spring.

More information can be found at the new Golisano Autism Center website which is “Under Construction” as the Center is built at GolisanoAutismCenter.org. The community can stay informed of Center progress and major announcements by “liking” and following us on Facebook and Twitter.
