Playing with Purpose

For 56 years, the Al Sigl Sports Classic Golf Tournament has helped drive change and create opportunities for people with special needs to live more independently, pursue their goals, and be more fully included. Funds raised stay local and benefit over 55,000 children and adults served by Al Sigl Member Agencies annually.

Mother Nature did her best to keep us guessing at this year’s Al Sigl Sports Classic Golf Tournament, with a picture-perfect morning then a brief-but-spectacular downpour in the afternoon followed again by blue skies. We appreciated everyone’s flexibility as we adapted to the changing weather conditions!

We are truly grateful for our generous sponsors who make this event such a success, our volunteers, and to each of our wonderful players who joined us at Midvale. On behalf of the more than 55,000 children and adults served by Al Sigl Member Agencies annually – thank you for joining in and supporting our work together!

Playing with Purpose

Jon Beato has taken part in the tournament for decades, as a golfer and also as a sponsor through Upstate Systems. When asked to share why he looks forward to the tournament each year, he noted Al Sigl’s commitment to the community. “Al Sigl casts such a wide net in its mission,” he says. “The Al Sigl team fosters a culture of caring and support for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our community — what could be better than that?”
